Well, no, you don't have to have favors at your wedding. Favors are not technically a requirement however, it is up to you and your groom if you'd like to thank your guests with some appreciation for attending your special day. Favors are a sweet gesture that make your guests feel special and they do not have to be over the top and crazy expensive.
Instead of looking at favors as an added expense, see them as a fun way to share with your guests a token gift from your heart to theirs. After all, many of your guests came from afar to share this special day. This is the party of the year for you, your groom, family and friends and many of your guests have put out great expense themselves to attend your wedding.
So, once again favors are not required but highly recommended in making your guests feel appreciated.
